In partnership with the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) to automate the application process for the conferment of the rank of Senior Advocate, here are the answers to the questions you may have regarding the end-to-end digitization of the application process.

Answer: You can easily access the website here: https://lppconline.com
2. What is the maximum mb to be uploaded?
Answer: The size has now been increased to 100mbThe Guideline supplants the form in this instance fill your form in line with the LPPC Guidelines of 2018 and the Notice of call for application published in Punch and daily trust newspaper from the 3rd – 5th January 2022
3. What happens where an applicant only uses two names – Can an applicant use only 2 names to register on the platform?
Answer: Yes, he can as there is no problem with having only two names.
4. What does other supporting documents mean?
Answer: It is a field in the form that allows users upload 5 supporting documents that are not listed as required documents. For example: deed of change of name
5. How can I print the form?
Answer: The form can only be downloaded and printed after applicant has filled the form and submitted and not before.
6. How can the documents be indexed given the fact that the documents are uploaded differently online?
Answer: Simply number, paginate and highlight your name on all the documents before you upload .
7. What does Record of Appeal mean?
Answer: The field Record of appeal has been renamed as Record of proceedings. Please note that the LPPC Guideline supplants the form and thus the form should be filled in line with the LPPC Guideline 2018.
8. What does advocate referee and judicial referee mean?
Answer: You are required to provide a list of judges, Advocate who are SAN or not that you have appeared before or alongside.
NOTE the secretariat will select a Judge from each tire of the court from High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court and one SAN. Ensure those you list are not due to retire or elevated to a higher court.
9. On superior court referee assuming a referee was on the Court of Appeal bench but now on the Supreme Court bench, can one use the justice as a Supreme Court referee if the case to be relied on is that from the Court of Appeal judgment?
Answer: No! only use referees with the designation they are holding at the time of application i.e. only use Supreme Court bench Justices to referee Supreme Court cases.
10. What can I do when I am unable to cannot view the uploaded file?
Answer: Kindly save for later and try to view again. You may also need stronger internet connectivity
11. Is citation is a compulsory field?
Answer: No
12. What does Statement of account showing proof of payment of National Bar practicing fee and Branch dues mean?
Answer: The requested statement of account is your own showing that you paid your fees in due time for the past 10 years. This is however not a compulsory field.
13. Are we submitting any hard copy of the downloaded form and attached documents?
Answer: NO. There is no instruction given to do so
14. Under Pro bono cases, do we submit letter of confirmation for pro bono cases from Judges or NBA?
Answer: Yes you are required to provide a letter of confirmation from Judge and letter of instruction from client or legal aid council
15. Are we submitting anything in hard copy or only the 5-flash drive?
Answer: Only submit 5 flash drives containing all your uploaded records (in 5 complete copies in your flash drive) neatly labeled in individual folders in your flash drives.
16. Are we required to do a separate numbering for documents uploaded with the form different from the one in the flash to be submitted?
Answer: No
17.What do you mean by 5 copies each of trial proceedings under trial proceedings?
Answer: Only submit 5 flash drives containing all your uploaded records (in 5 complete copies in your flash drive) neatly labeled in individual folders in your flash drives .
18. Is there any place we can download the form from the website?
Answer: The form can only be downloaded after the applicant has filed the form
19. Are tax receipts supposed to be uploaded in addition to tax clearance certificate?
Answer: yes
20. Under the E-Application regime is it necessary to highlight places in cases reflecting Applicant’s appearance?
Answer: yes
21. I am finding it difficult to upload documents on the portal. It keeps showing different error codes. Please how can this be rectified?
Answer: The upload system works fine. However, it could be that the document is in a format not accepted by the portal or your internet connection is low. Please save for later and try again.What if the applicant did not participate in the trial at the lower court would he still need the record of appeal where his name might not appear? Answer: No, he would not
22.Can you please explain paragraph 2.5 of the advertisement? It is ambiguous because it speaks of uploading copies online submission of 5 flash drive AS WELL COPIES OF ALL THE DOCUMENT UPLOADED ONLINE to the Secretariat?
Answer: What applies to advocate applicant is that they submit 5 flash drives containing all your uploaded records ( in 5 complete copies in your flash drive )neatly labeled in individual folders in your flash drives .The deadline for submission of flash drives at the LPPC Secretariat is April 1st 4pm
23. For advocate referee the case you upload is it the case the referee handled?
Answer: Yes
24. While filling the form can you save and continue later until you complete the form before final submission or the form must be filled and submitted on the same day without a provision for a break?
Answer: Yes, you can always click on the save for later button on the top right side of the form.
25. How many supreme Court Cases are currently required for SAN for a Private practitioner?
Answer: Read paragraph 14 of the LPPC 2018 Guideline.
26. Can I upload the receipts issued to me as proof of payment of national and branch dues?
Answer: Yes, see guideline for the requirements
27. Can Private Practitioner who has authored so many books and articles apply as Academic SAN:
Answer: Nothing in the LPPC 2018 guideline says that. Kindly read the guideline.
28. Are tax clearance medical insurance and related documents still necessary?
Answer: No, please refer to the guidelines for further clarifications on the specific requirements for the 2022 award exercise LPPC 2018 guideline.
